GOLFING AT MIDLAND VALLEY

INITIATION FEE: $1000
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP $130 monthly
SINGLE MEMBERSHIP $115 monthly
MEMBER CARTS $13 for 18 holes

Tee times may be made 7 days in advance. Members may walk and use pull carts or motorized pull carts except for before 2:00 on weekends and holidays. (Usually relaxed to 1:00 during winter months) No walking Masters Week. Masters week play is limited and with shorter advance reservations.
Midland Valley Golf Association hosts a tournament one Sunday each month. All Midland Valley Country Club Members (male or female) are welcome. A small entry fee is charged and cash prizes are awarded. Format is modified stableford with a quota initially based on handicap and going forward, based on past performance in the tournaments. Awards for closest to the pin on several holes. Sign up in the clubhouse.
Midland Valley Couples Golf: Hosts a tournament one Saturday each month. All Midland Valley members are eligible - husband and wife or any combination of male/female team. Usually you play with one other couple as a 4 person team and the best two net balls are scored on each hole. Small entry fee and cash prizes are awarded. Awards for closest to the pin on several holes. Sign up sheets are in the clubhouse.
Twin States: This men's organization has been ongoing for many years, hosts a tournament, usually on the last Sunday of each month. It also hosts two member guest tournaments and a golf trip annually. Entry fee for the Sunday tournaments are $25. Cash awards are made to winning two person teams (assigned by draw) and usually to 3rd place. Pro shop gift certificates are awarded to individual winners usually to 3rd place. Team winners are ineligible for individual awards. Also an optional skins pool.
On any given weekday morning, there is usually a men's and/or ladies' match for whoever shows up. And there is a daily dogfight usually around noon for men.
Midland Valley CC members also have a number of opportunities to play other courses in various organizations. For seniors (55+) there are two organizations that play a tournament at a different course each month. Entry fees are low, averaging $25 including cart and the opportunity to win prizes. The format is modified Stableford based on your handicap initially and then adjusted monthly once you have about 5 rounds in. These groups are the Aiken Seniors and the CSRA Seniors.
For women, there is also the CSRA Women's Golf Ass'n. They hold round robin and member/guest tournaments at various courses in the area in both GA and SC.
